This ensemble period dramedy follows a group of Black actors in the midst of filming one of the first all-Black talkies. Despite their differences, they must band together as their production is threatened by the foreboding presence of the Ku Klux Klan.

Meet the Playwright

Evan Carrington

Carrington is an actor and writer originally from Baltimore. After discovering his passion for performance through an improv class in his senior year of college, he committed himself to developing his craft across commercials, film, television, and theatre. A self-described journeyman, Carrington continues to challenge himself artistically while seeking to grow, leave a lasting impact through his work, and honor his guiding personal values. His play, Save My Black Soul, just had a sold-out run at Laurel Mill Playhouse.
