2022 Summer Theatre Adventures!
It’s a summer of theatre adventures, and you’re invited! NextStop’s Summer Theatre Adventures are one and two week-long theatre classes which follow a process-based curriculum to foster a life-long love of the performing arts. Each session is led and designed by highly experienced professional teaching artists, allowing students to explore different subjects and areas of theatre week by week. All sessions are full day programs that run from 9am to 4pm on Monday through Friday. To view our summer offerings, scroll down!

Set Sail!
July 11-15
We are off on an ocean adventure! From pirates to mermaids, seagulls to starfish, we will explore and discover both the real and imaginary wonders of the high seas! A perfect companion week for young students joining the cast of MOANA Jr. or a nautical adventure all on its own!
Tuition: $295 ($270 before March 1st)
Disney’s Moana Jr
Young Summer Players
July 18-22
Join with the older students to rehearse and perform in a musical based on this Disney hit! Our younger performers will be featured in the ensemble of this high-seas adventure! Students will get mini classes on acting, singing, dancing, character development, and we will rehearse to put on our very own production. Lead roles will be cast from upper grade students in the previous week. Students will be joining the ensemble for the second week of rehearsals and for all performances.
Rising 5th through 10th Graders

July 11-22
Aspiring actors, singers, and dancers will work together to put on a full scale musical production! Whether you are a seasoned performer or this is your first time on stage, there is a spot in the cast for everyone! Students will get mini classes on acting, singing, and choreography, and we will rehearse to put on our very own production. Roles will be auditioned and assigned during the first 2 days of class. (Final performances are on Saturday morning following the class.)
Tuition: $725 ($690 before March 1st)
Footloose Jr
Summer Players
August 1-12
Aspiring actors, singers, and dancers will work together to put on a full scale musical production! Footloose Jr Crew
Summer Players
August 8-12
Sign up to our crew team for the second week of Footloose, Jr. for the backstage perspective of putting on a show. Students will learn about theatrical design, scenic painting, and costuming while creating the items we will use in the final performance. Our Student Crew will also be backstage during the final performances, serving as assistant stage managers, run crew members, and board operators. (Final performances are on Saturday morning following the class.)

Health and Safety Policies
NextStop Theatre is deeply committed to the health and safety of our students, patrons, and employees. We will continue to monitor and adjust our policies and procedures to reflect the most current best practices for everyone’s well-being. Until further notice, all STA students will be required to provide proof of vaccination on the first day of each session and wear a mask at all times indoors. NextStop will be working to create more opportunities to conduct activities and rehearsals outdoors throughout the day and final performances may be performed on an outdoor stage. NextStop maintains the right to modify processes and scheduled performances at any time in the service of everyone’s health and safety.
Additional Information
Location: Most NextStop Summer Education Programs take place at NextStop Theatre: 269 Sunset Park Drive, Herndon, VA 20170. During weeks in which multiple sessions are occurring simultaneously, sessions may also be located at a satellite location, generally within less than a mile of the theater. Please check your session’s location when you register.
Registration Fees and Payment: All registration fees must be paid in full at the time of registration. Registration using a credit card is available online. To register and pay by check, please e-mail education@nextstoptheatre.org or call (703)-481-5930×0. (Make checks payable to NextStop Theatre Company. A $25 fee will be charged for returned checks.)
Late Pickup/Fees: Our program day ends at 4:00pm. After 4:15pm, late fees are assessed at the rate of $1.50 per minute. Late fees are due upon pick up of the student.
Scholarships: A limited number of need and merit-based scholarships are available. Please contact education@nextstoptheatre.org to request an application. Applications are due by April 30, 2022.
Refunds: A full refund will be issued in the event that a program is canceled for any reason. A partial refund (minus a non-refundable 25% deposit) is available if a participant is withdrawn more than one month prior to the start date of the program.
Liability: NextStop Theatre Company assumes no liability for injuries or damages arising from participation in any class or program.
Photography/Video: Photos and/or video taken of participants during programs may be used without compensation or further consent of the participants and/or the parents/guardians of the participant.
