A Summer Teen Production
A brand new NextStop Education production coming this summer!
We are producing a full-scale production of "Grease" this summer, which will feature an all-teen cast (rising 8th through 12th graders). Students will work with NextStop's professional directors and designers to create "summer nights" to remember!
Pre-Audition Workshop
Saturday, April 27th 11:00am-2:00pm
Here is your chance to meet the team and perfect your audition skills ahead of time! You will have the opportunity to learn the choreography for the dance call, work on some audition techniques, and learn an audition-ready cut of music with our wonderful production team. All you need to bring is yourself, wearing comfortable clothes and shoes, and a water bottle.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Pre-Audition Workshop, Auditions, and Callbacks will be held at our rehearsal space:

Our rehearsal space is located on the far left side of the building (as you are looking at it from Herndon Parkway.) The right side of the building is the Herndon Police Department.

Auditions
Tuesday, April 30th and Wednesday, May 1st from 6:30-9:30
Each audition will last about an hour. Please arrive at least 15 minutes BEFORE your audition slot begins. You will be in groups of no more than 12. One by one, you will sing a 32-bar cut of your favorite pop or musical theatre song in the style of the show (either the one you learned at the Audition Workshop or your own selection). We will provide an accompanist as well as a Bluetooth speaker. But, if you choose to use a track, please make sure that it is an instrumental or karaoke track, we don’t want to hear any voices other than yours.
Then, as a group, you will learn and perform the dance combination, which will be the same one from the Audition Workshop.
Callbacks
Thursday, May 2nd from 6:30-9:30
Following the last day of auditions, we will hold callbacks for certain roles which will consist of cold readings from the script, singing from the show, and possibly dance. Material will be taught during callbacks and does not need to be prepared ahead of time. You will be notified via email on Wednesday night if you need to attend callbacks.
Note: If you do NOT need to be at callbacks, this does NOT mean that you will not be cast in the show. It simply means we have seen all we need to see from you to have a good idea of where you might fit.
Rehearsals
Tuesday-Thursday evenings, Mid-June to Late July
Monday-Thursday evening, Late July to Opening
Tech week (ALL CAST REQUIRED) August 10th- 15th
Note: Not all cast members will be required to attend every rehearsal until we get closer to Opening Night.
