volunteer job description

Usher (approximately 4 hours per shift)

Usher Volunteers are responsible for making every patron’s first impression of NextStop Theatre Company a stellar one. Usher volunteers greet each patron upon arrival while following all safety guidelines. Shifts are available throughout the season for NextStop’s Main Stage, Family, Improv, and Cabaret performances.

requirements:

• Age 18 or older with reliable transportation, OR Age 14 and older with parent/guardian permission

• Able to climb stairs

• Able to briefly but safely lift brochure boxes weighing up to 15 pounds

perks:

Volunteers (and their parent/guardian, if volunteer is under 18) may view the show they are ushering from a designated seat, or choose to receive one (1) complimentary ticket to another performance if the show is sold out. (Ask for details.)

Shifts start one hour before each showtime (please arrive an hour and 15 minutes before the showtime for your first shift.)

attire:

Preferred: Black pants/skirt, dressy jeans, or khaki shorts/skirt. (Alternatively, any NextStop apparel is also acceptable).

Also acceptable: Black and/or white dress shirt with black and/or white pants/skirt or dressy jeans.
