All Performances are Sold Out

Wait List / Standby / Cancellation Line Information:

There are usually up to 4-6 no-shows for every sold out performance. We start selling waiting list “standby” tickets 1 hour before each performance in person, at the theatre box office only. (Note: at some performances, patrons might line up outside earlier than 1 hour, but will not be permitted to buy “standby” tickets until the lobby doors open.)

If there are not enough cancellations or no-shows at curtain time for you to be seated, we’ll promptly issue a refund of your “Standby” ticket.

There is seating in the lobby as well as beverages and snacks at our Bar Car concessions you can enjoy while waiting. Each member of your party must be present (or near the lobby) when your name is announced or your “Standby” ticket will be immediately refunded and the next patron on the list will be announced.

Wait List Frequently Asked Questions:

  • + -

How good are my chances of getting in?

It’s anybody’s guess. We have cleared as many as 16 “Standby” tickets from the list in the past, and as few as 1. But we’ve never had a sold out performance where everyone shows up. It just depends on where you are on the list and how many people don’t show up for the show.
  • + -

Does my infant need a ticket?

    Yes, everyone needs a ticket.

Who Can I E-mail or Call With Questions About Your Standby / Cancellation Line?

If you have questions about our Wait List / Standby / Cancellation Line Information, please e-mail boxoffice@nextstoptheatre.org or call 703-481-5930 x0. But… please don’t ask to be added to a wait list by phone, e-mail, or in advance… it makes our theatre ghosts very upset.

About the Show

Oh, good grief! Since first premiering on television in 1965, A Charlie Brown Christmas has been broadcast in primetime every single December. Now this iconic holiday tradition is coming to NextStop, live on stage.

Part of NextStop’s Community Outreach

Part of NextStop’s mission is to introduce new generations to the power of theatre: both in the audience and on stage. With a cast of 25 kids, this production leaps head-first into introducing the area to NextStop’s community outreach working with children in the performing arts.

“I first started with this theatre company 22-years ago appearing in a children’s production, so I am overwhelmed with pride at being able to provide the opportunity to introduce a new generation of kids to the joy of performing.”, said Evan Hoffmann, NextStop’s Producing Artistic Director, adding “But I have to say, I am amazed at how much more talented these kids are than I was!”

Join Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang as they go ice-skating, rehearse for the holiday pageant, decorate the doghouse and discover the true meaning of Christmas… all amid the timeless, classic music that will bring holiday cheer to the young and the young at heart.
