First Look: Photos of “Pride and Prejudice” at NextStop Theatre in Herndon VA
Herndon, VA / Washington, D.C. – NextStop Theatre Company opened “Pride and Prejudice” on Saturday, October 5. In this spirited new adaptation by Kate Hamill, Jane Austen’s beloved story about the intersection between love, marriage, and social status is fresher and funnier than you ever thought possible. NextStop’s production features a cast of eight starring Katelyn Manfre as Elizabeth Bennet and Jacob Yeh as Mr. Darcy. Pride and Prejudice is directed by Megan Behm.
Critical reviews are coming in with high praise:
“Playwright Kate Hamill and director Megan Behm have taken the familiar elements of Jane Austen’s best-loved story and turned them up to eleven, also throwing in a few double entendres and a handful of contemporary touches.” – DC Metro Theater Arts
“Fall is the perfect time to cozy up with a good story, whether page or on the stage, and if you are an Austen fan, you need to check out NextStop Theatre Company’s Pride and Prejudice. Even if you aren’t an Austen fan, if you like romance and laughs don’t miss this. I promise that even the most “prejudiced” against Jane Austen (like I was) will have a delightful time.” – He Said She Said Experience
Audiences are raving about the show, too:
“I thought Katelyn Manfre was magnificent and stole the show. I also appreciated how well the cast changed roles and added modern dance styles to the ball!” – NextStop Patron
