Casting Apprentice

NextStop Theatre is now accepting applications for a Casting Apprentice. Undergraduate, graduate and early-career directors are encouraged to apply for this exciting opportunity to work alongside NextStop Theatre’s Casting Director and Producing Artistic Director to experience what goes on behind the scenes to cast multiple shows with a variety of professional directors. The Casting Apprentice will actively participate in casting NextStop’s 2016/2017 Season including: collecting and reviewing actor headshots/resumes, updating NextStop’s casting database, organizing and attending auditions, and observing casting conversations to understand the decision-making process of individual directors.

The Casting Apprentice must have a flexible schedule that allows for independent work from home, as well as transportation to travel to and from Herndon, VA, at set times to attend meetings and auditions, which usually occur on weekday evenings and weekends during the day. The Casting Apprentice/Intern position requires a 6-month commitment, beginning on or around March 28, 2016, with an expectation of approximately 8-10 hours per week. This position is not affiliated with any educational institution and does not provide college credit.
