First Look: Photos of “Matilda The Musical” at NextStop Theatre in Herndon VA

Herndon, VA / Washington, D.C. – NextStop Theatre Company opened “Matilda The Musical” on November 16 and 17. This Broadway musical based on the classic novel by Roald Dahl is the biggest production to date at NextStop. It’s the story of Matilda, a little girl with mesmerizing wit, intelligence, and psychokinetic powers. But she faces real challenges from her unloving parents and her school’s horrible headmistress, Miss Trunchbull. “Matilda” is the story of a courageous little girl with an unbounded imagination who proves that despite the odds, you can do anything you put your mind to—and change your destiny.

NextStop’s production is directed by Producing Artistic Director Evan Hoffmann, with music direction by Elisa Rosman, choreography by Nicole Maneffa, and scenic design by Emily Lotz. The company of 23 includes adult professional actors and 12 local young performers split into two casts.
