Herndon, VA / Washington, D.C. – To celebrate 30 years of gathering for great live theatre in Herndon, NextStop Theatre Company opened the Tony-nominated Broadway musical Amour last weekend. This is a special all-volunteer community production, honoring NextStop’s roots as community theatre Elden Street Players.

“The opening weekend had tremendous positive energy,” said NextStop intern Jamie Davis. “It seemed like everyone left the theatre happy!” A review from Broadway World said it well: “Love is in the air” at Amour.

Amour welcomes back some of the organization’s greatest artistic collaborators, including director Gloria DuGan, to mount a beautiful, unique, and little known Broadway chamber musical about a lovelorn Frenchman who learns he has the ability to walk through walls. Amour is composed by Oscar-winner Michel Legrand, based on the French fairytale by Marcel Ayme. The story is so popular in France, there is a famous statue in Paris in Montmartre near Sacre-Coeur

The production team and cast are comprised of 35 individuals, produced by NextStop’s Producing Artistic Director, Evan Hoffmann.

“Whether you want to discover this lost jewel of a little musical or come celebrate the communal joy theatre – either volunteer or professional – can bring, NextStop Theatre Company is the place to be during this month-long run of AMOUR.” – DC Theatre Scene

Performances are Fridays through Sundays from August 3 – 26, 2018. General Admission tickets are $30. Tickets are available online at or by calling 866-811-4111. All seating is General Admission. Additional fees may apply.
