Oh–and we have a lot fun doing it.
Herndon, Virginia is where our non-profit live professional theatre company calls home. Our management offices are located right in the center of the town square in Historic Downtown Herndon, in a Train Depot building and museum that dates back to the 1850s. The performance space we own and operate, a 114-seat black box style theatre, is on the other side of town, where we’ve been doing theatre for almost 30 years.
If you’re from the area and haven’t heard about us, it’s ok. We started out as an amateur group called “The Elden Street Players,” and grew over the years into a professional theatre company. Now, you’ll see the same performers on our stage as you’d see at big theatres in DC. Our shows have received nominations for one of the most prestigious cultural awards in the nation–but we’re quite casual, and we pride ourselves on being a welcoming place to visit.
Be forewarned: just like our logo, we’re slightly outside the box and a little rough around the edges–but we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Although our performance space is centrally located in a warehouse at the intersection of Fairfax County Parkway, Sunset Hills Road, and Dulles Airport Toll Road on the border between Reston and Herndon, you’d never see us driving by. Like some of the best adventures, you have to seek us out.
If you haven’t discovered the incredible experience of gathering with your friends and neighbors for live theatre in the suburbs, we encourage you to check out a show. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to e-mail us or give us a call at (703) 481-5930×0.
We’re eager to use the power of live theatre to break down walls and build the bonds of community.Evan Hoffmann, NextStop Producing Artistic Director
